Sabrina at the Point Leo Life Saving Club in 1958, thanks to Brian Horwood. He said:

Attached is the photo we have of Sabrina at a surf carnival at Point Leo in December 1958. She came down to the club during the period she was doing a show at the Tivoli Theatre in Melbourne. She presented the trophy to the winner of a major surf race. Plenty of publicity (about her presence) meant we had something like 10,000 spectators there, giving very good takings at the gate. 29 March 2010 - The following batch of great (and rare!) colour pix came courtesy of Richard Koper of Holland. Richard is the author of the book Fifties Blondes - Sexbombs, Sirens, Bad Girls and Teen Queens which is now for sale at the BearManorMedia.com.

He says: First three scans are from the January 30, 1959 edition of Italian Mascotte magazine. (Didn't Sabrina visit Rome that year?). Fourth scan is from Austria's Wiener Magazine, August 1966.

In South Africa for the filming of Tarzan's Mountains of the Moon

There is, according to Google, a Galleon Gift Shop in Blackpool, and another in The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum in Key West, Florida. One page refers to the author, whose "chores were to paint the galleon and polish the wooden rails in the galleon gift shop." The galleon was a boat Mel had refitted as a replica of a seventeenth century vessel and it was his first attempt at a museum, showing all his finds to tourists visiting Key West. "

With Sabby looking in her thirties, I'd guess she's in America rather than Blackpool.

Does anyone have any idea what these 3 pix are? The only colour ones, it's very unlikely that they are from some unknown film. Was it a sketch or some publicity for the unknown actor with the sword?

Problem solved 21 Feb 2010! Ian Payne sent in 2 pages from Terry-Thomas' autobio, "Filling the Gaps". It explains not only who the bloke with the sword is, and where the pix came from, but why they seem so badly printed!
